Geomancy

Goldsworthy is working with the Spirit of Place in his modern earth art.
The Spirit of Place is one of the most important aspects we explore in Geomancy.
But unlike Goldsworthy we are not going to portray these phenomenon, we are aiming to recreate a Spirit of Place. We are trying to understand and heal certain energies blocking or interfering with a place.
Fundamental Concept of Geomancy
Geomancy is the science of human, animal and plant life in their natural or artificial (caused by civilization) fields, radiations and currents from the earth.
Dependent upon where you work and live, specific stimuli of the earth can (over time) be a part of causing chronic illnesses including insomnia, depression and even cancer.
Geomancers dowse the earth to look into the phenomenon of ground radiation or geopathic stress. Geo - earth and mancy - divining is explained as the search for the imbalance of the earth. The ultimate goal for a Geomancer is to remedy and therefore balance and harmonise the energies of a site.
Site Harmonisation
Quantum physics has proven that everything is energy: our thoughts, feelings, the table, the chair, the flowers, the bird, the car, etc.
"According to Tao, nothing can exist in isolation except in reference to another point" (Bijlmsa 2006, Form and Compass School, Australian College of Environmental Studies, Melbourne). This is describing the effect that all energies are interrelated and influence each other and that nothing can be done without affecting something else.
The response from a stimulation of similar frequencies through vibration is called resonance. All objects have a frequency or set of frequencies with which they naturally vibrate when struck, plucked, or somehow given an impulse; these are called the natural frequencies.
