House blessing and creating a sacred space

To bless a home or to create a sacred space refers back to very old rituals. In our western cultures we might celebrate house warming parties with basically the same effect. Greek cultures quite often ask a priest to perform a blessing ritual in a new home.

Why do we decorate our homes with fresh flowers, burn incense or aromatherapy and open windows to let the air go through on a nice day? We want to create a relaxed and calm atmosphere. We want every one in the home to feel comfortable. Space Clearing can do exactly that on a higher level.

Essentially we are trying to cleanse a home of residual energies. These energies could be created by any given event that has taken place in the house or in the emotions and thoughts of previous or present owners. These energies don't necessarily need to be negative but they might still not be conducive for our stage of life. The aim is to fill our homes with as much positive energy as possible.

To be able to create a positive environment we first need to get rid of all unwanted and negative energies. These energies can be shattered, shifted and removed with sounding instruments (e.g. singing bowls, rattles, the clapping of hands), with smell (e.g. sage, incense, aromatherapy) and with intent.

These cleared spaces can then be filled with whatever you want to invoke into your home.

Please also remember the beneficial effect of a house blessing when you move into a new home: manifest your presence, your traditions and beliefs and most important your energies - everything that constitutes you. Create your own sacred space where you feel comfortable, relaxed and enjoy spending time.
